Greiner Packaging develops innovative refill solution that reduces use of plastics

The newly developed 200-milliliter refill bottle is made of HDPE, PP, or PET material and weighs just around 16 grams in its original form. It contains 200 ml of concentrate, which later produces ten times its liquid volume across four spray bottle refills. Each safe, 50 ml dose can also be adjusted to 30 ml or 40 ml. This is done through a special valve and a guiding nozzle that fits into all standard spray bottles. Thanks to their shape, the new refill bottles make it easy for consumers to squeeze out their contents in consistent doses – plus, they can be provided with an attractive label. In addition, the nonremovable, hinged snap-on lid is fitted with a safety lock. And a user-friendly level indicator completes the list of practical features. As a result, the newly designed bottle is well placed to meet all current market requirements.

PM raises concern over slow progress on elimination of single use plastic

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday ticked off the environment and forest ministry (MoEFCC) for poor progress in the elimination of single-use plastic while observing that the ministry has not pursued the cause seriously in the past two years. He also asked the railways to fix the responsibility of people for delay in the completion of Sivok-Rangpo rail line in Sikkim and West Bengal even 11 years after it was sanctioned. While chairing the monthly review of key projects and programmes on the PRAGATI platform, Modi asked the MoEFCC to involve NCC, NSS and other youth organisations to create more awareness about eliminating single-use plastic. “The PM said if enough steps had been taken in the past two years, the situation would have been different by now after he went through a presentation highlighting which all states have notified norms banning such items and the timeline to achieve the goal,” said an official.

Expanding Possibilities with TAFMER™

In our world today, there is a growing plastic waste problem, and solving it is a major challenge. Plastic waste pollutes the marine ecosystem and devastates ocean environments. All companies using plastic (resins) need to change the way they do business. That’s where an important shift comes in – a change from the environmentally damaging business cycle of production-consumption-disposal to the sustainable cycle of production-consumption-collection-recycle. We promote material recycling that involves the re-use of plastic waste. A key shift is also occurring in bioplastics, which helps to lower our carbon footprint and reduce our dependence on fossil fuel resources.
