Switzerland-based packaging equipment provider Sidel Group has purchased Italian packaging design company PET Engineering srl, in order to strengthen its offering of packaging solutions.
PET Engineering, based in San Vendemiano, has expertise and knowledge in solid blowing process. It provides services in strategic analysis as well as label, cap, container and secondary packaging design. It also offers 3D mock-ups for better consumer experience.
PET Engineering has won prestigious packaging awards such as a Golden A design award in packaging design and a WorldStar Award in the beverage category.
According to a Sidel statement, PET Engineering integrates engineering, design and industrialization and is able to maintain “a delicate balance between technical feasibility and creativity.”
Sidel Group’s executive vice president services Pavel Shevchuk stated that “We are confident that Sidel and PET Engineering’s complementary strengths in packaging design, qualification and blowing process will bring the Sidel Group more business opportunities.”
It is anticipated that the acquisition will strengthen the portfolio of Sidel, especially regarding the design of containers for soft drinks, beer, water and liquid dairy products.
The Sidel official said, “Packaging design has a critical impact on the whole supply chain efficiency and therefore is a key enabler of our brand promise…. This move will ultimately translate into solid value for the Sidel Group.”
