Global food packaging specialist Huhtamaki has introduced a new flexible blister solution for tablet packaging. Called as Push Tab®, the new solution provides a new child-safe way of opening a strip pack by pushing through the tablet.
Push Tab® offers an alternative to blister or cold form packs. It is an innovative tablet packaging solution for pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
Fabio Daidone, Senior Sales Manager from Huhtamaki Flexible Packaging said that “We’ve developed Push Tab® especially as an alternative to high barrier blisters and cold form packaging. Its main advantages are that it is PVC free and cost effective.”
The PVC free material offers the highest barrier properties with extended shelf life. These properties are not affected in any way by pushing through the film and thus offer the highest levels of product safety. As the laminate does not incorporate any solvents, the risk of migration is very low.
The Push Tab® packaging is ideal for all climate zones on the basis of the typical market specification of PET-PE-Alu-PE/Surlyn. It comes in unlimited forms and shapes for differentiation.
The material also allows easy printing with different technologies, which offers new opportunities for design and product visibility.
The company is presently working with several consumers on diverse projects to launch Push Tab® into the market.
