Comexi, specialist in solutions for the printing industry and the conversion of flexible packaging, received a recognition for its flexographic innovation technology in the FlexoTech International Print & Innovations Awards ceremony, with two awards in the Flexible Packaging Narrow Web and Flexible Packaging Medium Web categories going to two of its European converters. Organized by Whitmar Publications, a company founded in 1989 which is a leading specialist publisher in the commercial and packaging printing markets, the Flexo Tech awards celebrates, as other awards celebrations in the flexible packaging sector, the very best of what the flexo industry has to offer.
Companies from around the world presented the best packaging to be evaluated by an international panel of judges on reproduction, degree of difficulty and print quality, in 15 different categories. The prizes were presented in the Royal Lancaster hotel in London, where 15 Gold awards and one Supreme award were given.
Two of the prizes were awarded to products printed with the leading flexographic technology of the Comexi F2 families and the Comexi F4, which encompass the best technological solutions, demonstrating that the company always offers the most innovative solutions which are competitive and efficient in responding to the high demands of the market.
The French company BRJ (Palamy Group) obtained the Golden Award at the Flexible Packaging Narrow Web category for ‘Marie Risotto aux Champignons de Paris’, printed with a Comexi F4. The jury noted that it was “extremely challenging: disappears the vignettes on the high screen with very small dots and an intelligent use of the fixed colour palette”. An European player associated with Palamy, BRJ, with over 80 years of experience, is a specialist in film processing for automatic packaging. Their areas of competence are flexographic printing, laminating and slitting.
Uniflex CJSC, a company located at Belarus also took a Golden Award in Flexible Packaging Medium Web for ‘Gotovim Vmeste Spices’, in this case printed with a Comexi F2 MC 10 colours. “Clever and good use of colours to enhance the gamut and obtain vibrant results. Very small highlights and clean text with sharp edges”, said the judges. Uniflex is a full cycle flexo printing house, the leader of the Belarusian flexo printing market and one of the largest printing companies in the CIS. They create innovative solutions in packaging and labelling for food, chemistry, cosmetics, and other industries.
“We are proud to see that the efforts that Comexi has continuously invested in flexo innovation since we started manufacturing flexo presses back in 1954 have been proven to be effective and see how our customers can be recognised through their designs. Several patents in Register Control and in the Doctor Blade Chambers in the Inking System, makes that the Comexi printing presses obtain the smallest dot gains, the most accurate registration and consistency through the whole length of the job, in the flexible packaging industry”, says Raúl El-Fakdi, Flexo Brand Manager from Comexi.
