Pepsi MAX, 7Up Free, Tropicana and all other ready-to-drink beverages will be in bottles made from 100% recycled plastic by the end of 2022.
This move is supported by the extension of our exclusive bottling agreement with Britvic and demonstrates our shared commitment as members of WRAP’s UK Plastics Pact.
Together with our widely recyclable bottles (which can go in household recycling), we’re further supporting a circular economy for plastic bottles with this commitment – plus it will also see us reduce the carbon footprint of our ready-to-drink bottles’ by up to 40%.
“PepsiCo and Britvic share a vision of creating a circular economy on plastic packaging, and building a world where plastic need never become waste. In support of this ambition, we are very pleased to announce that all of our ready-to-drink brands, including those produced under our exclusive bottling agreement in Great Britain, will be bottled in 100% recycled PET by the end of 2022.”

Already this year we’ve continued to progress on our sustainable packaging journey, with our entire Naked smoothies brand and the newly launched Tropicana Lean being packaged in bottles made from 100% recycled plastic.
We’re also continually nudging consumers on the part they can play in ensuring packaging enters recycling streams, rather than the environment.
This work includes standout ‘Please recycle me’ messaging on bottles, TV and digital marketing campaigns, as well as bringing it to life through our work with the Great British Spring Clean, Recycle Week and at major music and sports events.

Leading the way by increasing the use of recycled content is just one step towards creating a world without waste, that’s why our sustainable packaging vision has three pillars, Reduce, Recycle and Reinvent.
