Polyethylene Replacement Barrier Coatings
Polyethylene has dominated as a barrier coating in packaging applications because of its low cost, versatile properties, and the ease with which it processes.
Anuj Agrawal - Co-Owner of Texochem Industries Master's in Polymer Science and Engineering, University of Akron, USA Bachelor's in Oils & Surfactants Technology, ICT (formerly UDCT), Mumbai, India Anuj has been an active researcher in the field of "applied chemistry", focusing on coatings and adhesives science. Through his research he aims to provide quality solutions to problems faced by the industry. His work on developing water-diesel emulsion fuel has been awarded an Indian Patent, in which the technology proves to reduce the COx, NOx and SOx emissions and preserve fuel economy. He has also worked with industries in developing an upcycling process to convert waste PET bottles to high quality alkyd paints. The most recent research towards sustainability includes development of water-based barrier coatings to replace the polyethylene liners being used in disposable paper products. Anuj is a young scientist and has spent only 10 years in the industry (including his academic tenure), and has a long path in front of him, where he plans to grow his company, Texochem Industries on the basis of research, quality and sustainability.
