Tetra Pak & Shimla Municipal Corporation’s Donation Drive To Raise Awareness About Waste Segregation & Recycling

Students of Govt. Senior Secondary School, Kasumpti will soon return to their classrooms with brand new desks which are beautiful, sturdy and carry an important message – the power of recycling. Tetra Pak India, together with the Shimla Municipal Corporation donated 20 desks today in the presence of Honorable Shri Suresh Bhardwaj, Minister- Urban Development, Town & Country Planning. The desks are made from recycled carton packages, and the donation is part of Tetra Pak’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about waste segregation and recycling.

Biodegradable plastic will soon be banned in Australia

To start dealing with Australia’s mounting plastic crisis, the federal government last week launched its first National Plastics Plan.

The plan will fight plastic on various fronts, such as banning plastic on beaches, ending polystyrene packaging for takeaway containers, and phasing in microplastic filters in washing machines. But we’re particularly pleased to see a main form of biodegradable plastic will also be phased out.

Toyo Ink and ITOCHU to Partner in Building Plastic Recycling Scheme

Toyo Ink SC Holdings Co., Ltd., the parent company of the specialty chemicals manufacturing conglomerate Toyo Ink Group, and ITOCHU Corporation, a leading global trading house, have entered into a cooperative agreement to establish a plastic recycling scheme for the recovery and reuse of multilayer film packaging materials. Specifically, by using their respective technologies and vast business networks, the two firms will develop the materials technology needed to create real circularity of multilayer flexible packaging by making currently unrecyclable multilayer plastic packaging into a recyclable material by 2022.

The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted an increase in safety and hygiene awareness among consumers and propelled demand for contactless environments and products offering antiviral action.
